Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Hello everyone, my 6 year old son had an edoscopy done about a year ago (checking to see if there was anything medically wrong because he's a picky eater) and they discovered that he had chronic inactive gastritis. They also found lesions on his throat and esophagus but didn't know what they were. They were tested and are benign. They said it could be normal but I don't agree. Does anyone else have an idea or have them too? I also heard that he may have esophagitis. Thanks!
Your diagnosis sounds exactly like mine which is good so far but you have to change your diet eliminate coffee alcohol spicy foods citrus and eat at least two hours before bed in addition to your medication. my Gastro dr said I'm on the strongest dosage of Prilosec possible there is only one medication stronger but she explained that insurance won't approve prescription unless all other medications and treatments have been exhausted
