Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I know mint is supposed to be good for your stomach because it has anti bacterial and microbial tendencies but it really eats away at mine.
Have you tried ginger root tea.
I chop up some ginger and put it in a coffee plunger and let it steep for 10-15 mins once the water is in. Very soothing for gastrtitis and safe. You could add a dash of honey to sweeten.
Like ginger. Many raves about ginger and it is good if your problem is indigestion but for gastritis ginger is irritating. I tried it and had to stop.
Milk + honey. Both are not okay for gastritis. Honey is irritating and this was told to my friend by doctors at Duke hospital. Milk is acidic. You have to understand anything with a ph less than 7 is not going to be good for your gastritis. I drink rice milk and I used lactaid 1% fat mixed with rice milk to cook my cream of rice cereal in the mornings. And if you have a doubt about the ph buy pH paper so you can test yourself.
