Hi, I'm the one who is always banging on about Silicol Gell. Great stuff, you mention fitting it around your meds, I take 1 table spoon first thing in the morning and that's it. Also have you had a go at Manuka Honey 10+ (at least) very expensive but magic. I knew it was used for healing ulcers; I take it in my tea instead of sugar. I have just read an article about a lady who was diagnosed with Gastritis and put on PPI and meds and after 2 months she was still in agony and someone told her about Manuka, so she bought some high strength and within a few days it was gone. So she started bringing back in all her old faves, like spag bol, crisps etc and it has stayed away. She now drinks her tea with the honey instead of sugar all the time. What do you think ?

i' ve been takin Manuka Honey for 5 weeks it didnt do anything for me ...so i stopped it again, maybe 4 weeks wasnt long enough .

Thanks Gweny well I don't know what is going on but Ive got the worse pain ever. I think it may be the GERD I don't know. I can't sleep with it and have had an awful day. I think for gastritis alone the Manuka honey might help. Ive read about it but I tried it a while ago and was just sick so I haven't tried it since. I used to like honey too. Its very cleansing. Im now on Tramodol for the pain but Im hoping it will settle down. Im not taking Diazepam again as I read it can lower the lower oesophageal spincter. I looked up that cocktail dagmar and there sounds a lot of stuff in that. I hope that will be ok for you.

im in pain too and this time it also hurts in my back and shoulders ....i will take some of this cocktail tonight right before i go to bed to see if it keeps the acid down over night ...The anxiety pills seem to help a little ...but i think the pain im having in my stomach could come from the dexilant too cause before i started that 9 weeks ago i never had that kind of pain and it is a listet side effect ...makes me wonder tho how u take something to make your stomach better and then it can give u more pain ..smh

What strength manuka did you take - it needs to be as high as you can afford and taken certainly 3 times a day. But 4 weeks you should see improvement before then. If that is having no effect, have a go at Turmeric capsules from the health shop. They clear up inflammation, these are all the things I tried when conventional meds failed me so I speak from experience. Aloe Vera juice taken in the morning also helps me. Cider vinegar is excellent if you are not making enough hydracloric (sp) acid. Sometimes the gastritis is caused by not making enough as well as making too much, I take a teaspoon three times a day in a glass of warm water (with the manuka). You will eventually hit on something.

I'm still wondering if my fibromyalgia isn't causing my gastritis to flare up. Seems when the fibro attacks my back and neck, it also aims at my stomach. Anyone else here with fibro, and, if so, do you have anything similar going on?

I think my fear is that my gastritis may never go away as long as my fibro is active--and that's just about all the time, especially in the cooler months.

Hi sunlovinmum Im sorry you have fibro. I think it could be linked as its all to do with inflammation in the body. I don't know. I hope the gastritis goes. I know someone with fibro and he feels cold all the time even on a nice warm day. I supose all we can do is find something to help get rid of inflammation. The problem is if it reacts with our meds or we are allergic to it. I had a bad reaction to the Manuka honey when I tried it. It may have been because of the reflux though. Have you tried soy milk? Its meant to be good for the stomach. Also Omega 3 Ive tried it on and off but as things have got worse now I don't know. I just wish we knew the cause of bad stomachs. Im still waiting for the results to see if I have H pylori. If its not that then I don't know the cause.

I've had pretty good luck with soy milk. I try to eat every 2 hours or so, or it seems things are worse. Very tricky condition!

I've not tried the Manuka yet, but don't have the bacteria problem, so I'm not sure it would help me right now.

i used to take omega 3 for my cholesterol but i was told not to take it while i have gastritis ......i think i posted before that the honey didnt do anything for me i tried it for 5 weeks it did make my stomach burn when i took not bad but u could feel it and i got more reflux with it so after 2 jars of honey i was done with it .....i use my regular honey in small amounts and it works good .......

i was wondering about the fibro myself since my joints hurt and my arms,neck and shoulders , im not so sure if i dont have it too.... but i dont know who would test for it got to run it by my PMC i know i was tested for lupus and MS and im not having it ....so now im looking into seeing a fem.doctor, a mamogram, and getting a colonoscopy done ( my husband thinks im crazy by now ) and again im hoping all will be alright ....since eveyone is saying there is no reason for this not to go away... i just wanna make sure they right the anxiety pills seem to work a little bit im not getting drowsy and im more relaxed about this whole thing ....

I think you're very smart to get a colonoscopy done. I sure had much relief after mine, and was happy when the GI doc said my colon looks "wonderful." Now, if only my stomach looked "wonderful." :)

My fibro is flaring today in my back and my stomach is 'complaining' from that. I don't think it's the gastritis today; think it's the fibro.

I too had tests for MS and lupus. At least when you get tests like that, you can cross them off your list. Fibromyalgia is tricky and I literally have felt pain in every square inch of my body at one time or another, as well as numbness and spasms. Glad you are considering getting checked out a little more. Good luck!

Thank you....i have to go get checked what i can to ease my mind..and u def. right once you can rule everythingelse out its easier to focus on whats wrong cause this constant worry about whatelse it could be is not making it any better ....

I don't know why we have to have all these illnesses. I have asthma and I used to get bad back pain and pain from IBS. Now its all the stomach. I have had some funny things come and go while Ive had the stomach problem. Ive had chest infections,urine infections,skin rash,food poisoning and falls. I had a fall recently and bruised my knee. I think it weakens the body and immune system. We need a complete overhaul. No pain is nice. I wish I could help you with the fibro too. I pray about things and keep hoping. I won['t be having the Omega 3 again then. Maybe that has kicked this off. How about vitamins? Ive taken vitamin tablets. I know some herbal things react with meds so we need to be careful.

I hope your tests go ok damar68. I get the ph test next and it is awful as I had it before and it wasn't nice. Before though it didn't show much reflux up but I didn't keep it in overnight. I don't understand it as I get reflux a lot and pain. I was still on the PPI and my doctor told me to stop it for the test so will do this time. Im dreading an op and Im dreading the gastritis never going away. I bet we all do.

OH OH the doctor wants to do this test with me too ....if the pills dont kick in like he wants to....he said they do it with the endoscopy ...does it hurt? or is it just not a good feeling ? and how did u take it out ?

Ooh dagmar where you are it will be the Bravo ph test where they place a device to read the acid in your oesophaghus. My gastro told me about it. It is olaced in with endoscopy and then afterwards it falls out and passes through you. He said they do not do it where I live. I have to have a tube inserted down my nose into the stomach and a recorder machine strapped to me for 24 hours. Im dreading it. It is not nice as I had it put in before and didn't like it. I didn't have it in overnight. Im so scared but can't go on like this. My mum had a tube down her nose for a week after an op.
