Never tried nortriptyline have no clue what it is but i hope it works and you get well soon!! Gastritis suck big time! I got the feeling my headache is due to an infection with one of my teeth going to the dentist tomorrow to get it check out.. Not only does my stomach hurt but now my tooth and headache lol. God what's wrong with me..

I don't take nortriptyline, but take Neurontin (gabapentin) for nerve pain. I did a quick search, and noticed there is a warning about some people attempting suicide after taking nortriptyline. I think other meds have this warning as well. Just a heads up--not trying to scare you, but you may want to research it online a bit.

I started taking Neurontin a few years back for my fibromyalgia and neuro conditions, and found by accident that it does help with my gastritis (which I developed last July), as well. Although, I'm one who hates taking any meds at all, so I only take it if the pain has gone on for a while, as a last resort.

And DennisNJ: I often get teeth and headache pain with my fibro/neuro conditions. I think that may be nerve pain also, but I notice it's worse this time of year, with the cool dampness of the melting snow. Hope you are better soon, also! Yes--gastritis is the pits!

Hi my gastro once said I have nerve pain but gastritis is bound to hurt. Im on Amitryptaline which does nothing. My cousin was on it and she got changed to Nortriptyline for her back. I think it knocks her out a bit. Talking about dentists Im suposed to get a crown done but Im in too much pain to bother with it. I can,t afford it either. I hope you go on ok at the dentist Dennis.
