Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Does anyone else find that they just can't move about after eating, or even drinking, without getting stomach pain? I find that if I even stand up and walk around my stomach starts gnawing, and I have to instead just sit without moving and sort of put pressure on my stomach.

yes Andy, mine rubles if I move or sit. The pressure I get, but mostly that's from working out. Or a pop..I know lol

That's very interesting, Andy - I had a lot more relief when I was given pantoprazole intravenously at the hospital. I wonder if I'm just not absorbing my PPI in pill form because my stomach is so bad (I'm certainly not absorbing or digesting food).

Do you just crush your pills and dissolve them in water?

Just dissolve, they usually just disintegrate within 30 seconds so crushing not required.

Though in the past I have crushed them in my teeth and that seemed to work ok, but the guidance usually says specifically not to crush them.

For the first six months or so I couldn't move after eating. It was awful. This will get better in time.
