Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
So I'll eat bland for sure.
Woke up with bad nausea today unfortunately. I feel better now tho. I don't want to get those anti dep meds. I'm really afraid of them.
I seem to remember when I was on an anti dep several years ago one of the side effects was dizziness and panic attack which was ironic because that is why I went to the doc in the first place, due to dizziness and I did not know why. I remember reading it on the box and thinking my God I don't want it worse than it is now.
All very trying and tiring.
Keep posting.

So, after spending $12K US on doctors and tests, I still had no solutions.
I decided to take charge.
I am on my 60's, very active, male, 145lbs. I am in good physical shape outside this gastritis.
My solution: First was diet. BTW: No specialists even asked me about my diet! When I stopped my decaf coffee, it made a big difference. Also, stopped OJ, tomato sauce, and other acid foods. My wine - I cut down to 1 glass, and only occasionally. Started Prilosac 20mg 1X a day.
Also, I now use Daily Fiber capsules (Psyllium), and stool softeners. This helps with digestions and those enlarged haustrations.
At night, I take 1 Xanax .05 mg. this relaxes my body & gut.
I also use Gaviston sometimes, which cuts down on the stomach acid.
After 6 months of this routine, my life is pretty much back to normal.
I just need to watch my diet, and keep the routine going until my stomach and intestines heal. After almost 3 years with a messed up stomach, it is not going to completely heal in 6 months.
I will be trying Zinc Carnosine, which is suppose to speed up healing.
I don't post here very much, but I do hope something here helps you.
I def know what it is like to feel so nauseas and sick for weeks and weeks with no solution.
All the best to everyone, and keep looking for answers & solutions.
