Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Hopefully this will be over very soon. ARRGGHHH.
I so want good health again. I was just having a good run too. Aint that always the way?
I won't have results until next week but I feel less insane knowing I had something else going on. Does that make any sense. If the liver is in trouble it would explain all the tears anyhow.
Off to watch reruns of ER and forget my woes for a while.

if it is hep A i'm ok with that coz at least that will come and go and I've had it four weeks now so I'm a third of the way through. The GORD (in Australia it's GORD) isn't really an issue now. I think it was caused by the antibiotics and mercifully I stopped them on Saturday.
I'm so tired with what ever it is. In bed by 8.45pm and awake around 7-7.30am. How slack am I? LOL
Thanks for your support as always.

Sorry to hear about the pain, but I'm glad that you may have found a new avenue to pursue and possibly beat this thing once and for all. From what I understand, reflux can indeed hide out and it's not always obvious.
As for the PPI, you can stay on it for a while... and then taper off. Check out the thread I posted a while back about the natural approach to GERD. (GORD) It was a link to another forum, but was pretty interesting. For now, if the meds seem to be helping you... then stick with it.
Trust me, I know how bad it can get when you resort to taking meds you swore you wouldn't. Been there, done that.
One day at a time. Just find your joy in your day where you can, and do your best not to let your mind create stories. The pain is bad enough, but the mind loves to create stories and the stories are where the true suffering comes from, imo. If we can limit that... we can float through these things much easier. Of course, there are times when it just feels too much, and that's understandable. But, we always come back... as hard as that is to accept in our worst moments.
Keep us update on how the diet goes, etc.

I did have bad heartburn which was from the antibiotics. I stopped taking the nexium and no sypmtoms returned.
I'm doubling my probiotic for a while and am also on a liver supplement from my naturopath to help support the liver as it was the organ knocked around by all of this. My liver funtion has returned to normal.
Now I'll rebuil from this and then get on with the business of trial and error with foods with the gastritis.
