Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I do wonder if going off of it cold Turkey messed me up.
- Erythematous mucosa in antrum, so mild gastritis.
- Hiatal Hernia, a small one not big enough to do surgery on.
I think you may have cut the treatment off too soon and simply returned to your symptoms... talk to you doctor. Good news is, you have mild gastritis - you can get rid of it. It may just take a bit more time. The most important thing is not to let it get any worse!!
You may want to ask your doctor about tapering off the PPI when you're close to the end of treatment so you don't quit cold turkey. And whatever you do, don't eat the irritating foods for a while - you'll be back to square one.
Thanks for the positive support Rosebrook, lol.
