Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
So sorry to hear about your struggle. I'm 28 and have been having similar symptoms. Stomach pain in the same area as you and bouts of extreme dizziness and weakness. I've been trying to take vitamins to compensate for nutrients I'm missing by not eating a regular diet. It's good your under medical care. I'm getting an ultra sound soon to rule out other conditions. What have you been able to eat?
Also, you may not have diabetes but you could have hypoglycemia which is common it seems with gastritis.
right now I eat crackers and bananas for the most part, though I eat eggs almost every morning, unflavored and cooked without grease or butter. Then most days i boil plain chicken breast and brocolli or carrots. this doesn't seem to bother me anymore. There was a while though that almost all i ate was oatmeal made with water.
nina- I think they checked my gallbladder but just through blood tests, i also did a 24 hour urine test. everything came back normal, except my creatanine was a tiny bit high. I really wish the doctors would do their jobs! They just keep brushing me off when I go to see them. they didn't want to do a ct scan or an endoscopy. so they just put me on meds.
The other day I was just looking up dizziness and gastritis and had to stop because reading about it on the computer was making me nauseaus and dizzy.
It may be linked to low B12 too. I know my blood tests have shown that so I'm trying to take a sublingual B12 and see if that causes pain.
