Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Sometimes I think the 'what if?' questions we all ask ourselves make us feel worse, and we all do it (myself included!).
Maybe the key is to not try to look too far ahead and think of any possibilities. It's kind of like not going online and finding all kinds of stuff about other diseases and conditions--try not to even go there. Try to do anything BUT that--and you're on the right track if you pray.
I try to give my problems to God on a daily basis--not always doing a great job of that, but attempting, anyway. I know He has a purpose for everything we deal with.
Why not sit down with your doc tomorrow and tell him all your cares and worries and 'what if's'? Maybe even make a little list and run everything by him for his opinion. Any good doctor should be reassuring and caring, and will have good positive advice for you.
In the meantime, maybe try to get into reading a good book (or THE Good Book :)) or call a friend or get out your crafts. BTW, I've found some excellent crafts online--even videos of 'how to.'
And remember--your friends are here, and God is watching over you always.
Gastritis is a hit and miss game that we'd all rather not play, but we're in it whether we like it or not. Best thing to do is eat what we know, not stress out, and if an attack happens just sit in the least uncomfortable position and ride it out.
Oh, and also keep food in your stomach, an empty stomach can flare up. I told this to my mom, she wondered if gastritis is a type of diabetes... I think my mom needs more education on gastritis than me
