Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Hunger pangs - a sign I'm getting better?

Hi, it's me again! Sorry I have loads of questions as my docs aren't much help!!

Is the hunger pangs a sign that its getting better? I am constantly hungry and can feel a little burn under my right rib. I feel sick if I don't eat. Gaviscon and nexium don't get rid of it

just another symptom im affraid, i had days like that then a couple of days later back to square 1

It really is a nightmare trying to work your way through the maze - I know. I was never hungry in the early stages. I guess coz I was eating so often. When I experience my first hunger pain with gastritis it wasn't pleasant at all. I guess it was nearly 12 months before I had a 'normal' hunger pain and boy was I excited then.
Hang in there and never apologise for asking questions. That's what we're all here for. To ask and help each other.

Most people on here do bounce around a bit in regards to hunger... so when you are hungry, eat. Just be cautious to not over-load. Know also when you are not hungry, that is okay too. You just continue, as best you can, each day and you will get through this. Congratulations on a good day though, either way.
