Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Anybody have an opinion as to which H-2 Blocker has the best result with minimal side effects? Trying to use an H-2 along with my daily ppi.

For the last 6 months or so I've taken 300mg Ranitidine in the evening or at bedtime.

It works well & I've never noticed any side effects - do you get any?

Hi I once had Ranitidine instead of a PPI. I was tried on 300mg. I took it but it made me sick. Then I was tried on Cimetidine but acid still came up. They are good if you can get on with them. I was told they are less harmful than a PPI
