Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Great weight gain

For all those here who have lost weight with this illness it can come back. I lost 10-15 kg which was 20% of my body weight. I've just hopped on the scales and I'm now 59 kg. My target is 60 but hey I'm over the moon with this. I never thought I'd be more than 55 again. It's taken years to get here but I want you all to know it IS possible. Just be patient.

Hello, what did you do to loose weight?

I got sick. I lost the weight when the gastritis first hit and was gaining it back and then IBS got me so I had to start over. All good now though. I can relax more now when I have bad days and don't eat much as I have gained a reasonable amount back.

takes years to get there?

I'm bodybuilding and I need to gain weight. (150lb right now, looking to go up to 160lb or close by the end of april or may)

For some yes, it takes years. Soretum has had complications along the way. Some of us do, others do not. Your life may change for a bit temporarily, but do what you need to do to take care of yourself and allow yourself to heal... and try not to worry about the later. The worry itself can be problematic otherwise and extend your healing time.
