Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

You mentioned dressings. Which ones are fine for you? and also, can you eat raw vegetables? which ones? Just curious.
I also wanted to try peanut butter a while ago, but didn't dare to. I might try it one spoon at a time, and if it works then good cause I've tried strawberry jam for the first time and it was fine (also one spoon at at time :D ). Will make a good pair.
Thanks! I am happy to say I've had no alcohol and stuck to the diet. I did kind of slip tonight and had some progresso lentil soup, which caused pain. It had tomatoes and onion. Its not too bad of pain though.
I went back and read my post and misspoke, no dressings. :( I'd love to find one though, but they all seem to have vinegar or citrus.
Peanut Butter has been fine, I eat it maybe once every few days. I eat the Adams Natural brand. I also ate a peanut butter crunch Cliff bar a few times last week with no issues.
Veggies, I can do the raw veggies OK, I do green pepper, spinach, black olive(not in any dressing or jar, I do the canned ones). Kale is OK. I guess the other veggies I cook, like zucchini and green beans, I use a little olive oil. Olive oil hasn't been a problem.
I hope peanut butter works out for you! Thanks for the tip on strawberry jam, I might try that out, would be awesome to have pb and j again haha. I do miss chocolate and coffee like crazy though!
That's great that you have such wonderful people surrounding you and in your life. That's a big one. I am lucky to have that as well :-) The strength comes from keeping the thoughts healthy and happy, as well as believing we will get better and live a long life. If it takes a few years to heal, that's really just a blip in time in the grand scope of our lifetime.
What about tomato and cucumbers (raw)? I've heard they are evil so I haven't dared to try them yet but who knows maybe they're fine. Some people can tolerate them.
Recently I tried avocados, artichoke, zucchini, broccoli, green beans and soy sauce and they were fine.
Vanilla pudding (with honey and soy milk) and lady fingers when I crave sweets.
Lactase pills work great if you've become dairy intolerant like me.
And one tip: missing the taste of garlic, I tried garlic powder in a reasonable amount. The taste was there minus the irritation. Maybe you'll be fine with it, if not, give it a few weeks or months then maybe it'll be fine.
No on tomatoes (another thing I really miss). I wonder why cucumber is bad? I haven't had a chance try it. Green pepper is OK for me, I eat it in subway sandwiches and never have a problem. I usually do a turkey breast on white with olive, green pepper, lettuce, american cheese and a little mayo. Mayo seems to be OK for some reason.
Have you tried Manuka honey? I hear mixed things, but I've read some people really swear by it, it healed their ulcers in a month. I was thinking about getting some, regular honey doesn't bother me, I eat it with peanut butter.
Not really, somewhere I read it might be irritating so I just didn't try it. But people are different.
I tried black olive, lovely, I missed them so much. No reaction at all.
I also tried peanut butter, it was okay. But then I tried a bit more and had hard time digesting it. Nothing bad happened though. Maybe I should have tried a natural version. I bought a cheap one which might be harder to digest, not sure.
I read somewhere manuka honey can be irritating, but have never tried it, so I don't know. Might be okay.
How much time it took for you to heal completely., its my 3rd month now and I feel very depressed now. My life changed completely .. I want to be normal again :(
