Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
gastritis is very challenging. it takes a ton of discipline to heal the stomach and mental health plays a huge role which makes this even more challenging. Anxiety is a very common cause and other mental health conditions as well. If you dont have that, it is easier but requires a ton of discipline still. Eating the same safe foods for months etc. Not letting the stomach get too empty can make it worse as well. There is hope. Take care of the mental side if this is an issue for you. I notice on this site it is a very common cause.
Stick to the foods that are ok for you for months and stay determined. It is a 3 steps forward and 2 steps back process that requires a ton of patience! Staying positive about healing this is also a key factor in this. Do what you have to, to heal gastritis as quickly as you can. Take a ppi if you have to. The longer you have symptoms the harder it is to heal it. Nipping it in the bud quickly is the best way to go. If you cant be very disciplined with diet all the time a ppi or zantac may be needed. Otherwise it can become a chronic condition.
You have to be assertive with the doctors and lots are the types that take the approach.. if it is not in the text book as a symptom it cant be etc.. keep searching for a better doctor who at least considers the dizziness a symptom.
