Low blood sugar from eating incorrectly due to the gastritis
Low blood pressure from eating bland which usually means not salty
Thyroid issues....Hashimoto's has dizziness as a common side effect

Thanks Nina1959. Thyroid, blood sugar and blood pressure are fine. All blood work, MRI and other tests came back great. Only issues are gastritis and hiatal hernia. My guess is that the dizziness/lightheaded and off balance feeling is from the gastritis. I just want a remedy.

I for one get dizzy when i have a bad attack, usually after vomiting or trying not to, but that is me. I do think it is a side effect for me. Also if you get too dehydrated or nauseated, i do get dizzy, very. Now that's just me, and i also have all blood work was perfect. Remember, this is just me, one person.

Gimmestrength, I needed that hug after today. I am beginning to wonder what else could be causing the daily dizziness if not the gastritis. Could it be the hiatal hernia? Regardless, I just want relief.

Have you taken any meds recently that might be causing dizziness? I took CIpro (antibiotic) and it caused me to have terrible vertigo --I only took it for a few days but the dizziness was horrible and lasted for 3 months. I really thought I was never going to be normal again because the dizziness was so severe, but it did go away. Just wonder ing if one of your meds might be he culprit?

ChatDana, you stated what I've been thinking...ever since I took Flagyl I've been dealing with this dizziness and off balanced feeling when I'm walking. I saw one GI doctor who stated that my symptoms could be from the medication but it should be out of my system by now. I took that last pill May 27. Can you suggest anything that helped you?

Dizziness is a symptom of gastritis and reflux.

I had trouble breathing with reflux and I knew it was my reflux causing it and both my doctor and GI said it cant be from an acid issue.

I went to an osteopath who explained why you can have dizziness and trouble breathing with acid issues.

Traditional doctors dont agree unless they see it in a text book!

Once I stopped having burning issues the dizziness went away immediately.

Lesleygm, I agree, unfortunately the doctors who told me that the dizziness could not be from gastritis are Doctors of Osteopathic medicine. Why am I having such difficulty finding a physician who is knowledgeable? What worked for you to eliminate the reflux and dizziness?

If there is one thing I've learned about doctors is that they are nothing more than glorified school boys. They got all that book learnin' but when it comes to treating anything more than a scratch or broken arm they are clueless. They only know what they've been taught and what it says in their books. I've had several doctors actually look through their books and stuff to try and find something to help me.

If there is one thing I know for CERTAIN, it is that gastritis definitely causes dizziness. When my stomach is bad, I am dizzy. I have kept journals and tried and tested the dizziness over and over, and it is always linked to my stomach. ALWAYS.

Johngreen, I also know that my symptoms are being caused by gastritis. I'm almost sure that I'm not my doctor's first patient with gastritis to mention having these symptoms. I've had one doctor tell me that anxiety is the cause...and when I suggested other tests I was told that if I keep looking for something I will find it. Huh?! Needless to say she is no longer my physician. I would just like to find a physician who is knowledgeable, willing to listen and work with me to improve my health.

That's ridiculous. I have come accross some really lousy doctors. I just got a new doctor and so far i really like him. Not arrogant and uncaring like most

You asked what I did to get over my dizziness from medication..it just took time. I only took the Cipro for a few days but it took well over 3 months for the dizziness to go away. I really thought that it was permanent damage because it seemed that it wouldn't go away, but it did.

Hello i have days when i'm really dizzy. I'm convinced it's connected to low blood sugar levels and like a previous contributor said low salt, bland diet. i've tried to include more honey which gives me more energy. i'd like to know if anyone else feel nausea now and again. i particularly get this during the night. it lasts about half an hour then subsides.

I can't take a multivitamin because it hurts my stomach, so I had dizziness for years. If I eat medium/rare beef daily, the dizziness goes away so it must be a vitamin B or an iron deficiency.
