Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I have read that olive oil has healing qualities for gastritis and helps prevent it. Its suposed to be useful in the fight against the H pylori bacteria too. Has anyone tried it? Its cheaper than the Siberian pine nut oil and you only need a tablespoon at a time per day. I think I may try it,something has to work. It would be about time if it it did. Also has anyone tried other oils like walnut or coconut?
I can't say exactly how much good it did, since I took it (when I remembered!) with slippery elm, DGL licorice, chamomile tea, Carafate, etc., but personally (my opinion only here) I would think it could be helpful. Really don't know, though!
I have not tried any other oils.
