Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Duodenitis & Gastritis

Couple questions...Has anyone had Duodenitis & Gastritis at the same time suspected or confirmed? 


Does anyone have the experience of feeling overly full after just a few bites of food, but still being able to eat through the fullness? 


Does anyone have the burning and aching subside a bit but still have these other symptoms and nausea?

Hi, hope all is well. I’m not sure if I had duodenitis but I’ve been suffering from gastritis for the past 6 months. I’ve had most of the symptoms you described b sides the nausea. If you are still dealing with this problems I will tell you what has helped me immensely. I started taking boiled slippery elm powder every night before I sleep. When you boil the powder in water, it turns into a mucousy liquid that is perfect for coating the inside of your stomach. I take it while I’m laying down, using different positions of sleep (ie on back, stomach, sides) after a couple of nights in each position. For me, I noticed a drastic improvement pretty much over night when I had been taking PPI and other acid reducers for months with basically no improvement. I have been doing this for the past few weeks and I have noticed a huge difference and hope to be better in the next couple of weeks. Hope this helps you if you are still dealing with these problems.

just wondering what are the symptoms you have of the duodenitis? also wondering how it was found? did they find it with an endoscopy? does the camera go that far down? I have had gastritis for 14 months...much better now but I still get a mild 'nagging'ache either 2 inch above my belly button or just behind belly button area!! I have mild gastritis of the atrum(bottom of the stomach). Just wondering what symptoms you have...I sometimes get a burning as well..on nexium as and when now. Prays to all

hey. turns out the endoscopy just showed gastris in a number of areas in the body and atrum. no doudonitis. though that may have been healed by the time i got my endoscopy. gastritis presents with pain 5 minutes after eating sometimes in the upper right, caused the same way as gastritis but so can gastritis.

mine is also improved but i still have a nagging discomfort, need to go on a hefty diet to get rid of it. it was getting better before the holidays hit... sheesh. hope everyone feels better.
