Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Does anyone get bad pain keeping them awake?

Well my stomach has gone crazy as it settles down a day or two then it flares up and Im in agony. The thing is that I can,t sleep now during these flare ups of bad pain. I take Tramodol and have also been put on Gabapentin which I was assured would work. The pain has however been getting worse and I can,t sleep. I take my meds and drink a lot of water. There is no reflux type pain but a lot of inflammation pain and now I don,t know what to do. If I start taking Slippery elm will I see a big difference or will it take a long time to get results? Ive tried meds so only herbs left to try.
Also Ive actually had gastritis for about two years so what hope have I of getting rid of it now? I want to ease the pain,Ive had enough of it.

I had this problem but changed my diet and is helping...read my post under " you ain' t going to like this".

Im afraid to say that it is still flaring up and Im in agony now. Ive just had treatment for my asthma,antibiotics and steroids and now my stomach is killing me. Ive had several sleepless nights with my chest and stomach so not doing well at all. I don,t know what herbal stuff I can take with the meds. My diet is going to have to be altered a bit but I don,t see any difference yet. Ive been keeping off certain things but still got a lot of pain.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
