Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Hi everyone,
I'm considering trying milk again and maybe ice cream and cream. My only reason for wanting to try milk and cream is it might make eating out a little easier. I can certainly live without them all.
Any advice or experiences to offer?
I'm not even going to do this for a month at least if I do try so never fear!

You have been having luck though with the fresh veggies, so maybe it will go well. (I still am unable to do that). Hopefully the cat and you both get some enjoyment from the peas.

the peas seem to be ok. will try broccoli for the second time tomorrow and peas again during the week. small amounts only to ease into it. I just wish I could munch on raw carrot. Apples are the only crunch in my diet just now.

Just an update... I'm having a little soy-milk every day and that seems to be going O.K.. Nice to have another protein source.

Going to wait on trying dairy again until I put a longer string of good days together. But, I do want to try regular milk and ice cream again.

Anyone else doing any dairy?

I do a little dairy now, but I am still lactose intolerant. As I said, almond milk is a good option if you can't handle the soy (being a bean based product) and you will still get the protein. Other than that, I do know yogurt and some cheeses digest differently than milk based products like milk and ice-cream, so if you are looking to branch out, cottage cheese or a little mild-low fat cheese shredded may be a good place to start.

i'm ok with dairy yogurt and cheese, both full fat. I can tolerate fats so I get as many as I can while trying to maintain a healthy balance. I don't care if I try milk again. Once you've been without it for a while you do become slightly lactose intolerant and the reintroduction must be slow and will most likely be painful. I tried it months ago and it was bad. I can't do soy of any kind. Though about trying goats milk but I'm not in any hurry. There are other foods I want more than milk of any kind.
Can you manage any nuts Bryan? I can manage almonds, cashews and hazel nuts.

Goats cheese I have been told is REALLY easy to digest. Have you given that one a go yet?

goats cheese - me or Bryan? I have eaten goats feta successfully. COme to think of it I haven't bought any for a few weeks. I have more variety now and often rest things I can eat and enjoy bringing back the flavour like a treat I guess.
