Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
(Now I'm hungry for white chocolate. :))
Just before I was diagnosed with gastritis, I decided to have a 7up one evening. While 7up is usually not bad for tummy troubles, especially if it's flat and has the bubbles out, it's absolutely nasty for gastritis! Major pain! I have not attempted soda pop since, and perhaps have given it up for good.
It is such an individual thing. My gastritis copes with a lot more than the IBS will.
I can now manage small amounts of cauliflower and broccoli. I enjoyed some Brie yesterday and so far so good. Today I tried a small amount of green peas.
The one thing I'd love to gain back is raw vegies. I can do lettuce which I couldn't this time last year. woo hoo.
