Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
My brother told me about it and how he helped heal his ulcer through this. Said how he'd get awful heartburn so he'd just chomp a zucchini (highly alkaline food) and it would go right away (I tried zucchini and caused a terrible gastritis attack, so zucchini wasn't for me).
Anyways, I noticed one day that I was getting more burning/reflux and decided to look further into it. I had been eating a lot more toast, butter, and rice, which are acidic foods so I the next meal I had, I tried lentils and a little olive oil (which are alkaline) and the burning went away! Then I had some good old coconut water for good measure. :)
Long story short: Could be the foods you're eating are too acidic and eating/drinking some safe-for-you alkaline foods/drinks will help the burn. Check up a few different charts online, see where your foods lie.
