Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Best of luck!
Firstly if your abdomen is painful, you 'carry' your whole body weight differently - you walk different, sit different etc. This can lead to back pain. You use odd muscles to avoid feeling the inflammation in your stomach. Your diaphragm & other muscles can 'splint' or stiffen to avoid any pressure or pain on the stomach. So you end up with a bad back.
Secondly, sometimes pain felt in the back is actually 'referred pain' from the stomach or intestinal lining. I know this because sometimes I feel burning/aching through my back which then disappears if I eat some natural yoghurt or a banana.
Like Sunlovinmom the heated pad on my back also helps with the stomach pain & vice versa.
