Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I always try to find milder substitutes, such as a mild broth of either chicken or beef (homemade being best). It leads to some creative cooking!
It's been almost 1-3/4 years since I found I had gastritis and there are still ups and downs. I very, very gradually added new foods or sauces, just a bit at a time.
Even now, sometimes I'm fine with some foods or sauces, and another day, they can cause a mild flare. Gastritis is weird 'stuff'!
Hope you are feeling okay today!
