Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I have no idea of the effect of both the PPI and pepzin GI together. I am happy if it worked for you and I would be even more happy to read a scientific study showing that healing is faster with PPI and pepzin GI versus PPI alone. One example of one person getting better is not a proof.
For all you know, you could explode. You should stop that dangerous combination immediately!
(facepalm)
I just got my PepzinGi in the mail and I'm taking it along with a PPI. At this point, I'll take anything :P
Thank you ALL for sharing what has and hasn't worked, this board is invaluable. I told you guys in another post that I find drinking flaxseed tea is very soothing - you boil 2 tbs of flax for a moment, then let it steep and drain. The result is very gelatinous and has helped me when I get sore. I make a big pot now every day and have it nearby so I can have a dose every few hours. It won't cure the gastritis, but it helps with the pain.
I almost follow the same diet as you, and I got that from naturopathic dr. But I do eat a few grapes and raisins now and then and
Oatmeal, and rice puffs, rice cakes with avocado.
