Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I want to reiterate that I'm not a spambot nor do I work for any company associated with PepZin GI (zinc carnosine).
It's just been a revelatory medicine that's popular in Japan and is well-researched for its stomach-protective effects, and yet slid under the radar completely in America, just blending with thousands of useless supplements.
I mean look at this:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1856764/
what exactly do you eat?
As I explained before, it's a complementary medicine, and it works well as long as you're already taking care of your stomach.
It's not an "either-or" choice between PepZin GI and anything else you listed. It's not gonna save you if you decide to drop the acid blockers and diets that already help you and start drinking Coca Cola like it's 1999.
Your body always tries to heal itself but you must give it a chance by avoiding anything irritating and lowering your stomach acid (which is irritating). No medecine will heal you. Pepzin GI interacts with your body to help healing in the presence of acid but from my experience your body heals faster without excess acid.
Herrlemann,
Here is what I eat:
Good foods:
Vegetables: all vegetables except tomatoes, bell peppers, radishes and cucumbers, garlic and onions. I eat my vegetables either cooked or in juice to avoid hard fibers.
Fruits: Bananas, watermelon, melon, papaya (all raw, sometimes I cook the banana).
Proteins: chicken breast, turkey, lean fish, lean seafood, tofu, tempeh, eggs, chickpeas, beans, lentils
Carbohydrates: rice, potatoes, amaranth, white spelt bread, millet, quinoa all of them as long as gluten free (spelt gluten ok)
Drinks: fresh raw coconut water, chamomile tea, evamore water, filtered water, fresh carrot-fennel-celery juice
In moderation:
olive oil
salt
nuts except peanuts
herbs except mint, chives, oregano
Soy milk, rice milk
fatty fish like salmon
maple syrup
To avoid:
spices (including black pepper, ginger, , all spices)
citrus and all fruits except the ones mentioned above
chocolate, tea, coffee
dairy, almond milk
gluten
tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, garlic, onions
sparkling water, sodas, juices, aloe vera
Manukka honey
anything fatty, acidic or spicy
My entire (positive) experience with PepZin GI was/is also while I am on acid blockers. Nor can I find clinical evidence that it requires "excess acid" to work.
