Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Since coming off my PPI I've had constant ache and pain in my back, central and mostly upper, almost around my shoulder blades. I thought this was heartburn or my oesphagus becoming inflammed as its worse at night when I'm in bed laying down. I mentioned this to my doctor this morning and he said it sounds like inflammation of duodenum, which worries me I must admit. Does anyone else have pain in their upper back and do you think its linked to the oesphagus or something else? My grasp on anatomy is not that great so any advice is greatly appreciated! I dont know if its possible to feel heartburn in your back? I am very confused what to make of this new pain.

I went to the doctor a while ago to see about my allergies. He rubbed my arm and stuck things under the skin. Nothing. He poked and prodded, his phlebotomist drew so much blood people thought that we were dating. The tests all came back negative. Then one day I went back and I told him that I had found the cause of my allergy. It turns out, I am allergic to betrayal.

This isn't really bipolar related but there is never anyone on the parenting groups, this is the most active group I've been in.My 6yr old son has really bad seasonal allergies and they're in full force right now. He gets a terrible cough; he coughs all day and all night, making it hard for him to sleep, and his nose runs.I've tried every allergy medicine, OTC and RX, and none of them affect his...
I have fibro, and often get back and neck pain. Often it's mid to lower back, but it can be just about anywhere. Really kicking up this time of year, and when it does, the gastritis kicks up as well. Heating pads are heavenly for this! Glad you're getting checked out. Best of luck!
This site could probably explain it best.
I should mention that they 'think' I have fibro, though I have other neuro things going on, also. It seems a lot like how fibro is defined, though.
I started having neuro problems in 2003 and had an MRI to check for ALS, MS, etc. Thankfully, I had neither of those. After many tests for balance, nerve conduction, etc., the neurologist believes this 'could' be fibro, but there is something else neurological going on--possibly mild cerebral palsy, which I may have always had (that was a shock learning I may have had CP for over 45 years and was never diagnosed til then!).
The neuro doctor pretty much said it's a 'wait and see if it gets worse' thing. So far so good. I'm always worse in the Fall, winter, and early Spring, but better when warm weather hits.
its the same for me .....this time it even went in my upper arm ....i m not sure if the ppi has soemthing to do with it or if its just from the gastritis/gerd .....
How I developed such a thing is a mystery. I haven't lifted anything heavy since my surgery early in the Summer. Tied in some odd way to gastritis, maybe??
