Stomach cancer (also called gastric cancer) can develop in any part of the stomach and may spread throughout the stomach and to other organs, particularly the esophagus, small intestine. It also may extend through the stomach wall and spread to nearby lymph nodes and to organs such as the liver, pancreas, and colon.
I've been having a lot of stomach problems: fullness after eating a small meal, bloating and extreme tightness of stomach, burning, sharp pain, fatigue, nasty taste in mouth, gurgling sounds, etc. When I went to my Primary Care Physician, the first thing he mentioned was stomach cancer. I've supposedly had an hiatal hernia for years now, only to be told by the same PCP that based on the endoscopy tests I've had done, there is no evidence of an hiatal hernia--and that I have GERD. I'm just wondering why the doctor seemed so certain I might have stomach cancer. Waiting for more tests to be done. I've already had the stomach emptying test, and now waiting for the endoscopy. I'm just wondering what were your initial symptoms and did your PCP suspect stomach cancer? Thank you for any information you can share.

when the doc first told me I had a GIST
I had no clue , never hear of this, but I researched it and I am still researching it every chance I get.
my only symptoms were , painful intercourse and pain at the top of my right leg ( the side of my stomach where the tumor was )
the doc did exploratory surgery on me , took out both my ovaries , gave me a full hysterecromy , I had a partial one years ago , and then stapled me back up , I received 37 staples in my stomach.
I recovered pretty quickly and he was very impressed with that ,
I would like to think I was a very healthy person,
doing ok today ( HAD A BIG OBTACLE my husband passed away 8 days after my surgery , so to say the least I have had a rough year ) but I take day by day , work full time and try to cope with everythiung, It is not easy.
