Stomach cancer (also called gastric cancer) can develop in any part of the stomach and may spread throughout the stomach and to other organs, particularly the esophagus, small intestine. It also may extend through the stomach wall and spread to nearby lymph nodes and to organs such as the liver, pancreas, and colon.

I was diagnosed with stomach cancer about two weeks ago. I have told my family and fiance but haven't really began to cope with it. I'm a mother of two year old twins and go to school full time to be a paramedic and work part time. The surgery was scheduled for this morning and was successful in removing 85% of the cancer in my stomach. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice with coping and going through chemo and still having energy to do what they normally do.

Hi I was also diagnosed a few weeks ago. It's terrible not knowing what to expect. I'm sorry for your situation, I understand how you feel because I'm a single mom to my 17 yr old son who I adore. I'm also a widow so it's only me and him. I have to go for one procedure and then I'll see if I need another one if the cancer has spread to my muscle. Then like you I'll see if I need other treatments. I'm looking to speak with other people who are going threw this as well. My name is Lori and if you ever want to talk let me know. So sorry I can't be of more help right now, but I just got diagnosed with adenocarcinoma gastric cancer and haven't had surgery or chemo yet; was wondering myself which way is the best to go. Did the chemo make you real sick?

I am actually on a chemo pill, I guess my cancer is a blessing ??? because I can take the pill at home and my hair dosent fall out,i was diagnosed with a G I S T THAT is gasteroral intestinal stromal tumor
the tumore was 13 cm and in my small intestine,
so I guess its not the same as stomach cancer?
did any one ever hear of G I S T?
it is a rare form of caNCER, I AM IN REMISSION. I MUST STAY ON THIS PILL FOR 3 YEARS
THE pill is Gleevic, and it has little side effects on my , just some diharrea and upset stomach if ya don't take it with water and food
