I actually bought a wii right before Christmas and then decided to take it back. Didn't think I was getting as much out of it as I would something else. But I Know my "grown" kids each have one and they love it, but not for the fit part! I'm sure you will get some good opinions here though!

My sister hasn't had the surgery, but she has wii fit and she likes it, says its a good workout, but I can't really tell you first hand how good it is. I'm sure someone here will be able to! I think a few people here have used it. I want one for the wii fit games!

I bought a Wii fit for my family for Christmas. I actually opened it early and tried it out. You must know I hate to exercise!! I did the aerobics part for a total of about 18 minutes or so. Not hard at all, but I am not cordinated at all, so had a good laugh at myself. Thought hey this is not to bad. Next morning when I went to get out of be I could "feel" the tight muscles in my calves. So I would say for me it is a good fit. I can do it at home, not to hard and it is entertaining. But remember I do not like to exercise so if your looking for a "real' workout I haven't pushed myself this far yet. So I don't know how it would work for everyone else.

keeps me motivated and I specially love the Yoga....
You can always take a 3o minute walk around your home and use the wii for firming and toning!!!
Now they also have a game called your personal trainer. That is going to be my next investment.

my neice got a wii for christmas and we have all been playing it,not just the wii fit, but the boxing about kicked my ass. Ok so i was playing against an energetic 7 year old, but i could see where the time would go by quickly and you could definately get a good workout. I bought my son xbox360 for christmas but i think i may actually go get the wii too...

I have the wii fit and like that, I just got the Jillan workout for christmas and did it this moring it was okay. I dont' know if I would buy it again. I would try and borrow someones first and see if you like it. But the wii fit is great!

I play the tennis game a lot and t's quite exhausting (I am very motivated when winning is involved). I have the wiifit and wiiplay too, the boxing is a killer.
I'd certainly buy it again.

I have WiiFit. I like the activities, but the WiiFit has an attitude. When you do the body check, it fattens up your avitar if you are obese or overweight. If your balance isn't perfect, then it will ask if you trip over your feet when you walk. When you step on it, it says "oh!"
I laugh it off, but it really pissed off my hubby. Apparently he doesn't think he is obese. ;-)
I think I get more exercise from the WiiPlay games, and I really want to get a treadmill or recumbant bike. I go to Curves also, and it's great.

MY KIDS GOT THE WII FOR XMAS WE PLAYED BOWLING FOR MOST OF THE AFTERNOON. I COULDN'T WALK THE NEXT MORNING I HURT ALL OVER. SO I GOT MY WORKOUT. I DO WANT TO GET THE WII FIT TO SEE IF I WOULD LIKE IT OR NOT. ME AND THE TENNIS DOES NOT GET ALONG AND I HAVN'T TRIED THE BOXING YET. BUT WILL GIVE IT A TRY ONEDAY

I have both a treadmill and the Wii fit. Personally I like the treadmill better. The wii fit is a nice supplement, but it doesn't get my heartrate up enough to really burn calories. So the treadmill gets my heart rate up enough to a level that I lose. The Wii fit is fun, but that is about it .... fun... not real hard core cardio (which is what we need)

I just played wii fit over christmas at my daughters house, and I plan on buying one for me to have after surgery next week. I loved it.

the Wii is the way to go...all I can say is the Dance Revolution on the work out mode is awesome...burn baby burn...beats a treadmill anyday!!! Happy New year!!!

I have heard of it. A friend of mine got wii fit for Christmas and she loves it. Says it's a lot of fun. She is a member of curves and now she says she doesnt know how she is going to go back. lol

Thanks for all of your input! My daughter just got one so I can't wait to go over and try it! I've always liked the treadmill, but I need something to work the total body and keep limber. I used to go to curves, but after awhile it just didn't seem like it was enough. The place I was going to was really social. That could have been what was keeping me from being real focused and working as hard as I could have. The people were fun, but I wasn't getting the workout I needed. Thanks again.
