Why does it take soooo long.....

I went to see my cardiologist on the 16th of August and he cleared me. It was the last thing I had to do for the pre-surgery checklist. I called the cardiologist's office and the letter was being typed and faxed the 21st. I checked and the bariatric surgeon's office had it as of the 23rd. It is now the 28th and my bariatric surgeon's office has not called me yet to schedule my surgery and pre-surgical appointments. Good god, how long does it take a file to be looked and an approved and sent to be called on? I am so chomping at the bit for this. It seems like it is taking forever to get this started. Was it like this for any of you?

lol um actually the process when I had my surgery done took over a year and I had to travel 3 hours away for my appointments. Many of my friends had psych evals that took all of 15 min mine was 3 appointments. they had the intake and with in 6 mths had their surgery.

so I get the anxiety it will all go faster then you think now

yes! It took 4 month for my doctors office just to get my medical records. I have been waiting since April 1 and finally got my surgery date yesterday!

It took forever to get the info from the doctor to the surgeon and the surgeon with the insurance. I called almost weekly. I would just keep calling them and stay ahead of the game. Best of luck to you.

From the time mine was sent to INS to the time I had my date, was about 4 working days (there was a weekend in the middle).... I'd be on the phone every few days or so or at least whatever time frame they gave me... when it is up, I'd be calling! :)

Be patient, it will all come together. You and your doctors office need to make sure all your ducks are in a row and nothing is missing and that all is approved.
Stay in contact with them and I'm sure you will have your date soon.

My advice would be to call EVERY day whoever it is you need to call to get everything done. I did this and my surgeon's office now know my voice when I call! You need to be your own advocate and you will get faster results :) However I am very impatient lol.
