Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. Do you ever wonder why this DS group is so much more active than others?
I mean when we put up a post, we're sure to get at least one, if not 4 - 6 responses within 24 hrs. even if it's got nothing to do with WLS!
But on other groups, sometimes nobody responds for weeks, or ever.
I know that i don't get on much, except for on the weekend (or during vacation, like this week), but there is always someone here to lend support.
Why do you think that is? Why do some of us that are past the "active" losing phase of the surgery keep coming back? why do pre-ops support those who have gone before - when in other groups, the newbies are more focused on their own questions? Why are we all so open with each other? With such high activity in the group, why don't we have more mean people - i mean usually every group has them?
Huh, i just find that really interesting. and i am so very happy that we are like that - so many of us don't have an in-person support group option, this site more than makes up for that.

I'm not on any other support sites, so I can't comment on them, but I can say that I love coming on this site everyday, even if it's for a brief moment. I look forward to the comments, and the advice and the NSV's.
I think all of us are in the same situation, we can easily relate to each other. And our kindness and honesty with each other keeps us going. And I think a huge part of our contributions is that we have physical evidence that we are evolving and changing and that offers inspiration to those who are working really hard to make the changes they need to make.

I like what was said on the family envoroment. I keep thinking my mouth er fingers will get be black balled but you all just scoop me up brush me off and tell me keep working with my docs even when I don't want to do it anymore. lol
Of course you all keeping me around kinda makes me question your judgement because at times I even want to black ball me. lol
I only wish one thing.........that there was a oops changed my mind let me delete my post button. :)
