Hello I take liquid iron around noon...can't say that I take it everyday cuz I forget plus it taste nasty lol...don't take much either tiny sips...don't notice a difference but I will continue to take it when I remember ...

I only took those when I was pregnant and as far as I could remember, the only thing they did to me was make me not pooh! Did your dr. tell you to take them?

I'm pre op but the nut told me take my bariactric iron vitamin before bedtime. I have sampled some and the bariatric advantage brand left a metal taste in my mouth even after I brushed my teeth three times! The celebrate brand didn't leave the metal aftertaste. The dose depends on if you are still having periods if so it is the highest dose but if not there are a couple other dosages.

I take iron twice a day. First thing in the morning and after dinner in the evening. I take a chewable that isn't bad at all. I take it with my multi and Vit. D. I have to wait several hours to take my calcium so calcium comes at lunch and later in the afternoon.

I have not really noticed any effects of it, but I have been on it since the beginning and am 9 weeks out. I do feel like I have energy though.

I take prescription iron based on the results of my labs from doctor's office.

I take it at night prior to bed, its called Corvite (I think). Most iron supplementation causes constipation.. that's been my only side effect.

Thanks for the quick replies! I've been feeling pretty tired lately - my surgeon doesn't do labs until a year out, which is in a couple of months. Someone I work with who has had GBS thought I could be low on iron. I won't take it unless I clear it with my doctor, but I've heard nasty things about iron. And the last thing I need is something to make me even more constipated! Maybe I won't need it - was wondering how many programs require it.

I take Celebrate iron + vit c, once daily. Seems to help, I guess. My labwork has been fine and my iron levels have been stable.

I've batteled anemia on and off for years. My doc always gave me rx iron pills and they helped with the fatigue. I always had to take them with food. so it would be dinner time. I'm odd because they did not constipate me they had the oppisite effect.

I believe last round was 2 or so years I was on then I went back to eating meat and the anemia went away so far its been 3 yrs since they stoped them and my levels are good.

I got constipated badly taking supps. I started to cook in cast iron and my iron is up to 17 and my nut is happy!

We went to the same Bariatric Center, different surgeons. My annual lab showed normal but in the lower range, so the nut suggested adding iron rich foods but I have been using iron supplement just to know it is really getting the boost it needs. Can't say I feel a difference as far as energy, but alas the side effect of constipation is being well known. :( I am having a new lab done later this month for the iron since 3 months will have passed at this time since the annual lab.
