Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

I'm 10 months post surgery.
2) How long ago did you join DS?
Just now! :)
3) How often are you stopping by this group?
I hope to be dropping in at least a couple times a week.
4) Why are you here?
I'm here because I reached my goal weight a couple months ago and seem to have the opposite challenge of most. I can't stop losing. I started out at 235 and I am now at 135. I'm 5'7. My goal weight was initially 150, but when I got to 140, I was still ok with it. Now that I'm 135, I'm getting a little concerned. I have what I call good and bad food days. Good food days are when I'm able to choke down enough calories to sustain energy during the day. Bad food days (of which I have many), are the days when nothing either tastes good nor does it sit well with me when I eat it. Doesn't matter what kind of food it is; protein, veggies, carbs, etc. And liquids? I barely can choke down water to take my meds in the morning and evening. I don't vomit, but my stomach gurgles and complains the minute I take the first bite of anything most days. Doesn't matter if it's bland or spicy, sweet or sour. I'm curious if anyone else is having the same challenges? I've talked with my nutritionist and she of course wants me to ingest more protein, revert back to shakes, etc., which is great advice, but my issue is how awful I generally feel when I eat anything. Looking for some pointers or at least someone else who has experienced the same? Thanks so much!
