I am so sorry! I am 4 months out, it takes a while to feel 'normal' again, whatever normal is! Do you know what your trigger for throwing up is? I didn't have any issues like that at 3 weeks out, so maybe if you can pin down the trigger and avoid it you will start to feel better. I slept a lot in the beginning and returned to work after 3 weeks as well ( however I work from home so it was a little easier).
and OMG about your period...I got mine too after surgery and now it is like clock work every month for the first time in my LIFE! So, if I have to complain, that would be my #1 haha.

the bright side, I am down 63 pounds and feel fantastic! The first month was the worst....hang in there it will get better, I promise (hugs)!!

I haven't had GBS but I have had other major surgeries. We forget that our body is healing and our energy is spent doing just that. I'm sorry about you throwing up - perhaps you can figure out what is that made you ill. Hang in there - you are through the toughest parts and it will get better. Sleep, remember your fluids and protein and walk a little. Then start over. A good friend said one night she went to bed feeling like you was dying; woke up the next morning and felt great. I hope that happens to you very soon!

tam have you called your surgeons office about this...i mean it wouldnt hurt to at least check with them,and maybe even make an appt....after all thats what they ARE there for right...why feel icky if you can feel GREAT!!!!

You sound like me in the first 3 weeks, I would guess you have a stricture, apparently it shouldn't be so hard. I tuffed it out for 4 months before being scoped. They told me I waited way too long, call your dr. today. Don't make my mistake.

I would call my doctor if I were you. I was 4 weeks out and was throwing up and had a scope done and they found ulcers. I am having another scope done next Friday to see how my pouch looks and to stretch my esphogas because drinking still hurts and I am 3 months out. Good Luck.

The throwing up concerns me, definitely call your doc. I do have to say that week one I was thinking there was no way I could go back to work. I went from having loose stools everyday to being constipated for 11 days. I didn't think I would ever regulate. It does get better, I was able to go back after the second week and everythign has worked it self out.

It's not unusual to have varying energy levels at first. I know when I felt good I ended up overdoing it and then could barely function the next day. But if your throwing up you may be getting dehydrated, please call your doc just to be on the safe side. Feel better.

i spoke to the doctor today and she wants me to concentrate on getting the 48 ounces of liquids in which i pretty much have today although i went to the supermarket and it was hotter than i thought and it sucked all my energy out today. I have to call her back in the morning and we will take it from there - the last thing i need is to dehydrate. this is really unnerving me OMG it is work trying to keep up with the protein and getting all the liquids in. I have to get a handle on this from here on out if i am going to return to work and be okay. OMG

I had a couple rough months after sleeve surgery too. It wasn't WLS related but I had horrible shoulder pain once a month from June to Aug. Had xrays, mri, cortisone shots, had to take vicodin constantly to kill the pain for 3 days at a time each month. Then I got ill from the pain killers and then got dehydrated and had to go in for IV infusions on 7 seperate occasions. Even though it wasn't related to WLS at the time I did regret having WLS due to feeling like crap. It does get better. I went to Physical therapy after they tried everything else for my shoulders and got exercises to do and that made the monthly shoulder pain go away thank God. It was so bad. I still do those PT exercises every day now cause I don't wanna go through that horrible pain again. Your energy levels will get better. Make sure you are getting 80 oz of liquids in a day so your aren't dehydrated. Many people have this problem after WLS and it can make you feel bad and zap your energy. Try to get 80 grams of protein in too. I felt "normal" by Sept and feel wonderful now and weigh 129 pounds today. It was all worth it!
