Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. I have been thinking about this a lot lately ... defining every day by whats good about it, by what exists in my life that makes me happy ... and here are (some) of mine for today:
1. I got on the scale this morning for my weekly Sunday morning weigh, and it was 202 lbs exactly. Thats -62 since surgery, and puts me close to my first mini post-surgery goal of being under 200 by March. Just a few more pounds ... maybe by next Sunday?
2. My parents are coming in from NC for a couple days, and my entire family, along with my perfect little nephew, will be having dinner tonight. My family isnt perfect, but we have a great dynamic together and I am glad I will get to spend time with everyone tonight.
3. I have some terrific friends, people who I couldnt make it through this weight loss journey or life without, people I lean on and who never ever fail to fil my life with joy, hope, and happiness.
4. Being able to come to DS and read about everyones experiences, to get some invaluable information about what I am going through, to be able to share both the ups and downs of life with you all. Its amazing how an online community of people who are spread across the world can become your virtual family and friends - how you can form relationships with people who you have never met but nonetheless can share meaningful experiences and life stories with - and get such wonderful responses. You all rock, and you are definitely always on my happy list!
