Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Did you say you weighed after you walked around the lake???? Weighing after exercise is not a good idea. you will weigh more as your body holds onto fluid to keep from dehydrating and lactic acid builds up from the exerrtion.
Weigh yourself once a week. Same type of dress or undress. Same time of day. (preferably in the morning when you weigh the least). That's it! Your body will fluctuate in weight by a couple of lbs in a single day from morning to evening, after you go to the bathroom, if you ate a lot of salt the day before you will weigh more, hormone fluctuatins etc. all will affect what you weigh..........Weight fluctuations are perfectly normal.
Plus if you are building muscle your size may go down when your weight doesn't as a lb of muscle is smaller size wise than a lb of fat. It is much more dense. As you are exercising you will go down in sizes.
YOu are doing well. Keep up the good work. Don't sweat the small stuff . And 2 lbs is small stuff compared to the 158 lbs you lost! Keep eating what you are supposed to eat, keep exercising and it will come off!
Laura
You have done the AMAZING in losing a 158 lbs don't discount your achievement to date. After all it took you how long to put on this weight???
Diane
And congrats also on your commitment to exercise. It sounds like you have that down pat!
The next thing I'd suggest, if you aren't already doing it, is to keep a food diary, to weigh and measure everything, and to make certain that you are getting adequate protein and water every day.
You obviously know how to lose the weight, so I'd bet that you'll be able to lose this last 100 lb. as well. Hang in there, and stick with us. Studies show that people who participate in support groups have a greater long-term success rate than those who don't. Plus, I'm sure we all can learn from your experiences!
