My muscles are so sore. I am hoping all the protein I am eating and drinking will help it. What do you guys do for sore muscles. In the past I would just grab some Aleve....

I have found that I have to get some exercise every day. If I lift or run one day, or like today worked on building our deck for 5 hours, I might not go so hard tomorrow. But if I don't do something, a little walk, play golf anythingI'll actually be sorer the next day if I do nothing.

It's "Normal" to have "Muscle Aches" when you Strength Train. Since Surgery I have been working out "Consistently" in the Gym. I do both Cardio and Muscle Toning with the Weight Machines....and Geesh...at times I was SO SORE to the BONE Girl! Tylenol PM became my "BestFriend" as it would help. "Motrin" used to be my over the counter pain releif of choice but of course we can't take it anymore after surgery. I also Stretched and Stretched and Stretched every chance I got while home sitting down...or lying in the bed. Also Nice Hot Baths or Showers HELP tremendously to "Loosen" those "Sore Musches". But bottom line is The Soreness just like a Bad Cold has to RUN ITS COURSE. It will get less and less and less....but you my dear just have to do things to "Soothe" it was they Heal as much as Possible. Get your Man to "Massage Those Sore Areas As Well". REMEMBER each time you use a "Muscle Group" that havent been used for a long time they are going to be TENDER! Hope this Helps....Rachel

I have to admit, I've gotten a bit addicted to sore muscles! Yes, when they are really bad, I take Tylonol, but usually a light warm-up and a bit of stretching helps them feel better. I was soooooooo sore on Saturday, but after my Yoga-lates class (Yoga + Pilates), I felt fine. Always warm-up before you stretch. It will get easier. Massages can help when it gets really bad.

Just think...you are doin amazing things for your body and will soon be able to move with more ease than you have had in years. Keep it up!!

also, after a while of working out regularly you should experience less soreness

Make sure that you are getting potassium. That will also help with the healing of your muscles while doing the weight training. Eat a banana.

don't forget the epsom salts in your bath water--it really does help!
