Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
We all need that kind of encouragement, Chocolate! Great post!
well said chocoLITE...get it??
lite?..oh well it was funny when i thought of it lol
After 4 years of following a wt loss plan (still preop here) with few slip ups, I have lost VERY LITTLE weight. Many reasons, (hashimoto's disease for one) why it wouldn't come off...
There were MANY times when I felt like tossing in the towel... And just giving up. (I found my way to GBS instead!)...
But the most important lesson I think I learned over the last 4 years is this... I can only control so much. I can control what I eat, I can control my activity level... I CANNOT control what the scale does. And when it does not do what I want it to, it does not mean I did something wrong...
I only hope I am able to remember this lesson post surgery... when I want to compare my loss to anothers, or find myself on a stall.
Thank you for the reminder!
I love you girl and thanks for the encouragement. Praying this funk won't last but so long
