I had my surgery on March 12/10.
I was hearing a lot about this honeymoon period when the weight falls off and everything is great.
Although I feel I have been lucky with no complications and no dumping I am still waiting for the weight to just fall off.
I feel like an anxious bride waiting for the honeymoon to begin.
I weighed 260 at the beginning and between mindful eating and the liquid pre surgery diet I got down to 242.
After I came home from surgery I came down to 230.
Now I am at 215.
So I guess I owe 27 pounds to the surgery specifically.
I was on a plateau 6 weeks ago at 220 and now at 215 I am waiting at 3 weeks again to see the scale drop.
Honestly with a daily caloric count of less than 900 calories I can't see why the weight doesn't fall off.
It just hangs around like always.
I understand that weight loss slows but I am only at 7 weeks?
I wasn;t thinking it would be slowing this soon.
I want so much to see onderland again.
People say not to spend to much on clothes because I will be out of them before I know it.
I have beautiful stuff I am just waiting to fit into.
Will my honeymoon ever begin?

thanks to all who posted encouragement..it wasnt meant for me but it helps..i too have lost slowly and try not to get discouraged. it is coming off and i feel so much better. so i keep my chin up and keep doing all the right things! good luck hope! blessings to you all!

I found out the hard way that I wasn't eating ENOUGH calories... I was at about 800 a day and after 4 frustrating weeks of not losing anything, I decided to try more calories - up to 1000 and the scale started moving again. Just a thought.

Thank you, for all the support. Where else can you loose 56 lbs in 2 months? I will learn patience, and to adjust to what is happening. I am loosing inches. It is all a process. I am thrilled about the insulin being almost not need anymore. My hypertension is gone. There has been so many pluses. I am grateful for everything.

I needed to hear this. I am 3 weeks since surgery and have been stuck on 15 lbs lost for a week. I try to tell myself everything you guys are saying but it is a bit discouraging when the scale remains the same day in and day out. I do feel my clothes fitting different so hopefully I'm on the inches lost more so than lbs.

I had to add this... after 3 weeks I got on the scale and went up 2 pounds (according to Fitday my daily average calories consumed are 688?)

I read a post somewhere that said that our bodies are so efficient that we adjust to the reduced calorie ratio.
So I guess if I were left to starve on a dessert island rescue ships would find me 5 years later sitting on the beach still all fat and sassy weighing over 200 pounds :)

My surgery date was Jan. 11, 2010. When I began the journey I was at 252, surgery date 223 and now I'm at 186 and currently at a stand still but I feel so much better, I'm off of several meds and my CPAP machine, I know I will loose more just not sure when, but I have to say even if I didn't loose anymore I would be completely happy because I feel that much better.
To us all, keep up the good work and enjoy the journey to a happy and healthier us :)
