Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I haven't experienced dumping yet either, so not sure what to tell you. I do know it may cause diareha, but should only last a couple of hours. The pain in your side has been for a couple of days, right? I think you should call your surgeon's office just to be safe! =)
About two weeks out, I began having the pain in the left side, it was horrible and I had to spend a lot of time resting. It was the inner wounds healing and stretching as it was explained to me and it subsided about a week later, but as always call your surgeon and make sure. A heating pad helped me a LOT during that time
I missed this the other day. My answer depends...How far out are you? Which surgery did you have?

At this point (5 weeks, right?) you should just be walking a couple times a day. No heavy lifting, still. I was cleared for full work-outs at 8 weeks.
I wouldn't be doing any cereal until 4 months at the earliest. I'm 3 years out and still don't eat the stuff because it breaks the no liquids with meals and it isn't nutritionally dense enough for me. My program didn't allow milk for the first 4 months, either (but programs vary).
Hang in there! It will get easier.
