Uggh, Migraines

It is that time of the month, and I of course along with cramps, bloating and weight gain, have to deal with Migraines. Some months it is only for a day at the end of the cycle, or months like this where I seem to struggle the entire cycle. Thursday night I had to leave work early, Friday I stayed on top of it with meds, yesterday was pretty mild, and today I can't seem to beat it, though it is not bad enough for an ER visit for a shot. I finally ran to town and picked up a Diet Coke, which seems to work when all the meds just can't quite kick it. I can still feel it there, but at least it is not making my eyes go cross anymore. Hoping for the end of this cycle soon!! My son showed Entomology at State Fair today and I had to let Dad take him. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle the crowds and the heat and the activity oh and of course the 2.5 hour drive in each direction. Sometimes I wish I could just be spayed and be done with it all. lol Dogs have it so easy. :)

I hear you, I suffer migraines too. They get so bad I can't tolerate my sons voice. Today my husband has had one, it's put him out flat he isn't used to that kind of pain. Hope you feel better soon :-)

Oh, no!! I am so sorry you have to deal with this!! I was blessed to have a hysterectomy the year before I had my RNY.

Sorry you had to go through this. Are there alternatives to Diet Coke that you can look into? From what I've heard, the carbonation on a post op tummy is not pleasant.

yeah, I would rather burp and toot for a few hours in exchange to combatting an exploding head. Extra gas was the least of my concerns.

I am hoping you are feeling better! I can understand your pain. I always got migraines with my cycle. Either before during or after. I am glad to say I no longer have my period, but do still fight with the migraines. I have learned I need to start treating them as soon as I feel them. What works for me is Excedrine migraine. My nurse pract. says I can take them when needed as long as I take them with food.They are certainly a big pain! I try to do some relaxation, and Ice also helps. Take good care!

I'm so sorry. Migraines are a family thing for me. My sister actually has lost feeling on her rt side now due to them . I have maxalt for mine but if I don't take it soon enough my PCP fits me in for a shot.

This will sound funny someone told my adoptive mother this..........have a strong cup of caffeinated coffee and some oatmeal. It worked for her for awhile. I hope you find something to help.

No fun!! It might be the caffeine in the soda that helps.... at least it use to for me. I had a hysterectomy when I was 40, and I DO NOT miss them parts for a moment!
