Two days post op n doing great... yesterday afternoon they released me to go back to my hotel room then thurs or fri they will take out my drainage tube n I can go back home, YAY!!! The most surprising thing to me is how thirsty I am and how small 1 oz is n how long it has to be taken. I made myself nauseous by taking sips of my 1 oz cup over a period of five mins -you'd think that would be slow enough, but no... lol... I have to make it last for 10 mins...
Anyway doing great did lots of walking around the nurses station. After my fifth round they were taking light hearted bets n my nurse won it was 14 laps at one time... and on a positive note, no gas!!!
All in all the only sore spot is my drainage tube. Can't wait until thats gone. ..and now that my surgery is over I'm a little bit weepy, but thats ok, it's due..
Now on to sipping walking sipping napping n sipping some more. ..

Congrats. Getting the drainage tube out will be a big step. Just be prepared -- it may hurt. The doctor didn't say a word but I almost passed out from the pain when she slid it out.

As to thirstiness, maybe they can give you an IV? I had one the first few days post-op.

Yay! I'm so happy everything is going well! Keep sipping and walking and you will be healed in no time! Don't worry about the emotional issues, thats normal too. Your body has a lot of adjusting to do.

You go girl! I love positive post op posts. It reassures those getting ready for their turn, that there are some challenges but with a positive attitude going in, it can be done!

First and foremost, Congratulations!! It's so wonderful to hear from you and know you're doing terrific! I apologize for the late entry, as I was really sick and every time I tried to log on, it hurt my head to sit up with laptop and had trouble reading due to everything blurring together. I am feeling much better and trying to catch up with everyone! I'm very proud of you! Keep it up and I know how determine you are!!!
