Well a post-op buddy came over today so that we could compare "war wounds" and I discovered that I have Thrush! Yuck....my pharmacist recommended something called Gentian Violet....

Used it this afternoon and my entire bathroom is now purple! My hubby just about died when he saw it....I look like I have eaten a purple oompa lumpa!

I am also weepy eyed for the last two days...are they related?

I got Thrush about a week after my surgery. I took Diflucan for 6 days and also had a medicated mouth wash to use as well. I don't remember being weepy. Hope you get well soon!

You can't kill thrush yourself. Just suppress it. See your doc and get a prescribtion. Sorry, cause it's no fun at all.

That is true, you can not kill Thrush yourself. It's a fungal infection. I got the meds from my dr. It takes a few days for the meds to kick in too.

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I'm not totally familiar with Thrush, just know my granddaughter had it when she was a baby. Good luck, I hope you get well soon!

The yellow swish and swallow liquid works wonders. Can't remember the name. An antibiotic that they used in surgery caused mine

Yup, thrush = about as much fun as the more well known "OTHER" yeast infection! :)

Get meds... and the crying, I'm right there with you! I've been boobing ever since stuff was submitted for surgery/INS approval Tuesday! LOL!

I had an all out bawling fest this morning and I hope that my mother in laws lawn mower breaks!

The good news is that the Gentian Violet that the pharmacist recommended has pretty well cured the Thrush.

We are having flooding and flooding and more flooding for Independence day!

Why do we get weepy? is it because our system is all out of whack?

Your weepiness is from your hormones going crazy with the changes happening to your body. We carry hormones in our fat and whne the fat starts to melt away the hormones don't know what to do so they reak havoc on you. Hang in there it gets better as time goes by. But if your not feeling better in a few days then call your doctor.

Im just about 7 months out an I find I am weepy sometimes for no apparent reason. I'll just be sitting there an all of a sudden just start bawling. Whats worse is if Im watching tv. Oh my I cry when something happens to someone on there lol. I cant help it. I know its because my hormones are all out of whack. Takes awhile for them to catch up with the changes to. I hope one day soon I can watch spongebob without the tears. Good luck.

Shelley is right, our hormones get totally out of whack as we loose weight. The anesthesia also does a number on our emotions. It is very, very common for people to hit a wall of depression about 3 weeks out from any surgery. It happened to me with each of my plastic surgeries, too.

Also, you have just had a life-changing procedure done and have divorced your main emotional coping mechanism - food.

Normal to be weepy. However, if it becomes persistent or debilitating, talk with your dr. Some people need some extra help to move through the process. No shame in that.

Yikes on the thrush!! Glad it seems to be getting better!
