I am 14 months out from RNY and I have never thrown up since my surgery. I have heard others say the same thing so I don't think it is unheard of.

Is your body handling it different maybe? Like diarrhea or sweating?

If i eat too fast or something doesn't agree with me I will get nauseous and only feel better if I throw up. Now I don't throw up like a normal person anymore. It is much gentler is the only way I can think to describe it and food never comes up just fluids and mucus (gross I know) but once that happens I normally feel better fairly quickly.

The first time I dumped at about 6 weeks it was after I ate a few bites of a chinese chicken dish. I felt pressure in my chest, cold sweats, diahrea and saliva just running out of my mouth. Can't recall if I actually vomited food on that occasion, but I have vomited on others usually when I didn't chew well enough, ate too fast or my frankenpouch didn't like what I had fed it. Chicken and pasta gives me trouble. d

I haven't thrown up or dumped, but I have gotten the dry heaves twice, and the foamies once.... And I have read from others that they only get the dry heaves as well.. So it doesnt sound that uncommon...

I am more than 2 years out and just this weekend something just did not sit right with me and I had to make myself throw it up in order to feel better. I think most of us don't just throw up we put the finger down the throat to make it come up just to have some relief. You feel like you can't breath, sweating and pain until you get it out. What comes out as someone else said is foam and mucous but oh my what a relief it is.

Just this past weekend I threw up for the first time. I ate too fast (12 weeks out)... it was the first time I actually threw up. On a couple other occasions I have had bad chest pain that comes in waves with saliva (usually when trying to each chicken or other meat). I have never had sweating or diarrhea... in fact I've stuck with good ole constipation since the beginning. :/ Any way you slice it, its not fun... and a good reminder to follow the rules. (I just really hate it when it happens and I AM following the rules).

I haven't thrown up a lot, but when I do it's a whole lot of pain, saliva, build up....then...what comes up isn't at all like what came up before GBS. Our pouches don't have all the acid in them so it's just like a "bleh" and that's it.

I don't throw up when I dump. For me, dumping is like a combination of "the spins" and a really bad low blood sugar episode.

The good news: I haven't thrown up in 2 years. I haven't had the foamies in 2 years. I haven't dumped in a year. Hey, maybe I'm getting the hang of this thing!!

It reminds me of a baby spitting when it happens to me, and like most everyone else its from eating to fast or from something that just doesn't agree with me. The first time it happened it was weird...makes me wonder what the stomach flu will be like....

My dumping consists of the following: red red face, sweats, rapid heart beat, and an immediate emptying of bowels, but not diarrhea...followed by waves of cramps and dry heaves...makes sitting on the bowl interesting!

I do throw up if I have eaten something my pouch doesn't like or I have eaten too fast...and it's projectile, like I could hit a target 5 feet away.

You could be lucky with that. I have had it either vomitting or the otherside of dumping...the bathroom side. Believe me..you don't want either. Best wishes. debby
