Today I've been working on my future... grad school options. And today, it got real because I spent some time on the phone with a fella from Portland State discussing the options of my future. I start the process now of finding the schools and their requirements... but I won't graduate from undergrad stuff till next Spring....
Funny how the head works... You see, in the past, I have always sold myself short. Somehow I felt like I was deceptive because of my size. (I am not sure I am explaining this right).... but in talking on the phone to someone its like I am a normal sized person (or I figure thats how they picture me in their head),,,, then when they meet me and I'm not, somehow I feel like I didn't live up to their expectations.
Other things come into play as well. We all know there is obesity discrimination. That often obese people are seen as less competent and less motivated. This is HUGE when interviewing for grad school! I do not need one more check against me!
While on the phone, I figure (hope!) I sound like someone who is competent and motivated... then I worry that when they meet me they will think less of me than that first impression.
Today.... when I hung up the phone after discussing my options for the future, possibly at PSU.... it hit me, when I finally meet this person I will be normal sized (or there about) and I will have the confidence in person that I have on the phone!!
This was HUGE for me!!
Oh... and the jeans I have on today... 3 months ago or so, i'd not even wear them because I could not breath (or bend over) with them on! Today.... they are BAGGIE!! :) :)

Do you know what that sound is? It is the pieces of your spectacular future falling into place. You are going to rock the face to face meeting, and I'm so happy for your re: the jeans you're wearing today!
