so I was watching a little bit of Dr. Oz yesterday and he had on "hungry girl" who was showcasing some of her recipes and discoveries. One of the things she showed was instead of adding the oil, etc to a cake mix she added a can of club soda and baked it up like that. Supposedly you can hardly tell the difference. Don't know about that seems off for me. Although I do have to admit that she had some really clever, calorie cutting ideas that could work. One idea she had was to take a lean cuisine dinner cooked according to directions, a bag of steamed vegetables cooked to directions and then mix the two. It only added about 30 calories to the lean cuisine and bulked it up a ton. All I thought about was wow that would make a meal for me and my son. The portion sizes were huge on some of the things she made. I thought some of the ideas were great and I am going to check them out because they are great ways of getting my whole family healthy. She is just some person who started experimenting on her own and I think it will be fun to do that myself. Still not sure about the cake and club soda thing though.
