Don't let someone else experience scare you. As with any surgery there is some discomfort and if you do have pain the doctors will keep you comfortable with pain medication.

I'm a week away!!! I hear you. Hang in there!

Everyone's journey is different, don't get disgcouraged now. Look back at how far y'all have come. I had Gastric bypass on 10/09/13 and it was my first major surgery, I only used my pain pump for the first evening and half of the second day, that was it. I too know that everyone is different so I just put all of my positive energy in me and my recovery and everything went great. Now I am going to send all my positive energy towards y'all. We are all wishing the best for you guys :)

Sweetie, not everyone has a bad experience.

My surgery was a breeze - very little pain and I was up and walking all the time.

The first two months are tough food wise. Does anyone really like pureed food? But as the pounds start to fall off you fast and you realize that you FINALLY have control over food, you wont regret it for a second.

Hang tough sweeite!! It has been sooooo worth it and for me, the pain was not too bad at all! And no need to be a hero, take your pain meds when needed... that's what they are for!

mine isnt scheduled yet but I want to have it. Good luck. and abdominal pain is part of surgery, but it passes quickly remember child birth lol

There are some negative posts but I think there are far more of us that has no probelms!

Mine went well. Didn't really need the pain meds and didn't use them when I went home. Was up and walking shortly after.

Hi please dont get discouraged by what others experience. If that were the case I probably would have never had the surgery but it has proven to be the best decision I have made for my life. It is not to say that you may not experience some of the things others have gone through, but use them as a point of reference on how to handle it when and if it should happen to you. We have all learned so much from each other. I am now 7 months out of surgery and despite the few bumps in the road I experience, I have absolutely no regrets about taking this journey and I am most grateful to those who went before me and guided me through the process and I am here to help those who will come after me if only to encourage you and give you hope that this is indeed all worth it. Be blessed and know I will be checking on your progress.

Don't be scared. I barely had any pain and if you do they will give you pain medicine. People tried to scare me too, but it was not that bad and so worth it.
