Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Stock the fridge and pantry with water, SF ice pops, broths (boxed are great or make homemade & freeze in ice cube trays), decaf tea
Get a little basket together of things you will need near you on return home (tv remote, phone book, lip balm, lotion, sweater, slippers, favorite pillow, etc.) so you won't have to go on a hunt.
The nervousness is normal... I was scared but I knew I had chosen a surgeon I had faith in and I let the professional do his thing. I vowed to follow instructions to a T and then you just need to make peace with the fact that this is a major surgery and things can happen but the stats are in your favor (very low complication/mortality rates)
Best wishes!! Looking forward to following your journey and hearing all your WOW moments.

Make sure you take lip balm to the hospital with you...it will help A LOT after your surgery!
Best thoughts and prayers your way....

We both will soon be on the losers bench before you know it. I think the nerves are pretty normal, so i've been told, I mean it's major surgery but we have to keep in mind the reason we are doing this. I say "keep your eye on the prize!"
Good luck to you and see you on the other side!
