Got my insurance approval letter in the mail today ! Reality is hitting hard my surgery will be here before I know it! It seems hard for me to believe I will be able to ever lose any weight. I have been overweight for so many years. Right now I can't even lose 10 pounds, so in my head it's so hard to grasp I will lose 120 pounds to get to my goal. I'm very excited about my new life and journey ahead of me. And I also found out I'm going to bd a new grandma in June!! I'll be a young (46) hot grandma!!

I turned 40 on Feb 2 a few years ago and my grandson was born right after that on Feb 14! Welcome to the grandma club too!

Congrats! Your date will be here before you know it! And congrats on becoming a grandma! I also have another grand baby due in June! One is due next month, too! That will make a total of four! Grandparenting is truly the payoff! And now I can actually keep up with them! So much fun!!

Karen, my firstborn is also a "Ground Hog Day" baby - born over 30 years ago and first grandson born Feb 3 nearly four years ago!

Congrats! So happy for you! Get started NOW on vitamins, water, protein and making healthier choices. Educate yourself on every aspects of what to expect! If you haven't started already, get to work on your head issues and why you have eaten your feelings your whole life. WLS will change your body but not your mind. Changing your mind is the biggest challange to come! Here is a post that covers a LOT of what you will need to know. Ask lots of questions and be prepared for lots of tests and hoops! Bless you!

Great news! Use the time wisely by educating yourself on all phases of the wls journey. This board is a great place to do it. Some of the topics here are not even touched on by other or in person support groups. d

PS Congrat to you and all the other new grands. If I had know that being a grandparent was so much fun I would have don it first.

I have been heavy my entire life so it is Extremely hard for me to wrap my head around being "thin". I need to loose about 120#'s to be to my goal and I just can't imagine!!!!! But if we work hard, exercise, eat right and use this tool to the best of our ability, I think we will do just fine!!! And congratulations Grandma!!!!

I'm scheduled for two days after you! I've been counting down the days ever since I got the call from the surgeon's office. I'm so excited I'm about to burst open!! I'm trying my best to prepare so I'm already trying different brands of protein mixes and shakes (I like EAS stuff so far), taking chewable vitamins, drinking tons of water and tracking how much I walk with my *brand* new pedometer. My nut says I'm on the right track.
